Welcome,Khuthaza Strategic Development was started in 2002 in order to provide capacity building and training services to the community. "Khuthaza" means to empower in isiXhosa. The programme we offer at Khuthaza aims to equip learners with the tools to enter the social welfare sector, thus in turn fostering the community. The course is offered in the Gauteng Province and the North-west Province.
The focus of the programme is in further education and training in Social Auxiliary Work. The programme equips learners with basic knowledge of the South African Social Welfare Context as well as the context in which the services function. Fundamental knowledge of human behaviour, relationship systems, social issues and the ability to address social needs using appropriate social auxiliary work methods and techniques are addressed in the programme. The programme aides the learner in functioning in the social development sector.
The course offers several career paths for the learner to follow upon completion within the social welfare sector. Upon completion the student will be registered with the South African Council of Social Service Professions as a qualified Social Auxiliary Worker. If the learner wishes they are eligible to continue their studies at an institute for Higher Education.
We look forward to you joining us in helping to foster humanity.
